GENIUS HOUR

MODE- To inform/educate about ASD and the many things that go along with it
MEDIA- the media of my project is a website on weebley
AUDIENCE- the audience is for people who want to learn about Autism, someone they know might have ASD or they might just be curious about the autism spectrum
PURPOSE- The purpose is to know about Autism, most people do not know much about autism, so I wanted them to be able to learn about the medical conditions and age characteristics of autism. 
SITUATION- The situation was to learn about autism because I want to enter a career in special education or relating to disabilities such as Autism. I was unaware of the may aspects of autism before creating this website and researching it. I also have a cousin and family friend that have autism.

What did you research and why?
I spent the genius hours researching The Autism Spectrum. I researched High functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, The autism Spectrum different ages with ASD, careers in special education, medical conditions, genders effects on ASD, etc. I choose to research this because I am very interested in special education and different disorders such a Autism. The first genius hour project I was going to research high functioning anxiety but high functioning autism popped up on my computer and i decided I wanted to learn about that, it sounded interesting. After I researched HFA the first week my interest grew and grew. 

What did you create and why?
I created a website because throughout my research I realized that there wasn't a website that combined multiple things it was rare to have a easy to navigate website that had information so I created a website with links and an easy to navigate site with ASD information. I also felt like a website was the best to create because I am not personally involved with ASD on a regular basis so it would have not made sense for me to make a blog or vlog. I also had a lot of facts and information, that would be best on a website platform
