GENIUS HOUR

MODE- Informational/persuasive

MEDIA- An informal blog (made on weebly) with separate pages for separate categories of posts.

AUDIENCE- Those interested in learning about South Korean, or Asian, culture in general. Also, people who are interested in seeing how someone who's been exposed to it secondhand for a while thinks and forms opinions about it.

PURPOSE- I chose this topic to inform others about many different aspects of South Korean culture, as well as to offer them the point of view of an American/a foreigner who is interested in this topic, telling of my knowledge and experiences.

SITUATION- South Korea is becoming more and more relevant in today's world, be it through music, government, or their export-rich economy. Also, I've been interested in South Korean culture ever since my best friend introduced me to K-pop, and I have, therefore, been learning and forming opinions about it for about a year.

What did you research and why?
I researched South Korea's culture, more specifically its language, customs/traditions, values, and education. I chose this topic because I knew a bit about it already, and I was interested in comparing it to our culture here in the US. I wanted to gain some perspective on just how different things in the world can be.

What did you create and why?
I created a blog about South Korea's culture and my own thoughts and opinions on it, and I decided to do so because I wanted to offer a place where information about South Korea's culture was presented, but also where the readers could get an American's perspective on such information.
